Most parts suppliers can only sell you what somebody else has already made. When a hydraulic cylinder is out of production — and on an older machine it usually is — that is the end of the conversation.
It is not the end of ours. We manufacture hydraulic cylinders in our own facility, with CNC precision machining in-house, so a cylinder that no longer exists as a spare part can simply be made.
When making one is the right answer
- The machine is old. The manufacturer stopped supplying the part, and what turns up second-hand is as worn as the one you are replacing.
- The cylinder was never a spare. On a lot of implements and attachments the cylinder was only ever sold as part of the assembly.
- You need it changed. A different stroke, a different mounting, a heavier rod because the original kept failing under the load you actually put on it.
- You need more than one. Equipment builders and workshops who need a run of identical cylinders are better served by a production order than by hunting stock.
What we need to quote
Any one of these is usually enough to start:
- A drawing, if you have one
- The old cylinder — the surest route, because we can measure it
- Bore, stroke, rod diameter, closed length and the mounting type at each end
- Working pressure, and what the cylinder does on the machine
Photographs with a tape measure in frame get us a long way when a drawing does not exist.
Quality
Our management systems are certified to ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environmental) and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety), and our hydraulic cylinders carry a CE Declaration of Conformity. The certificates are published on our About Us page — not as a claim, but as documents you can read.
